Eaton Supplier communication, Coronavirus

To Our Valued Suppliers.

As the country comes together to slow the spread of COVID-19, the President recently issued guidance to ensure continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, the economy and national security -- "If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, . . . you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule." Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security ("DHS") issued a memorandum reiterating this directive-and identifying workers who conduct a range of operations and services that are essential to continued critical infrastructure viability.

Eaton's business is in "critical manufacturing" and "critical infrastructure" under the DHS guidance. Our electrical components and systems are used to support utilities, power grids, medical facilities, government offices, food services, as well as operate data centers and other vital information technology infrastructure. And our industrial products support a wide range of exempted industries and platforms such as aerospace, commercial vehicle and freight, transportation, construction of critical infrastructure and military applications.

You are a key supplier to Eaton in these critical manufacturing processes. The above mentioned industries rely on these product lines as critical components to power business and products safely and reliably. Without your supply, we cannot meet our obligations to our customers, which ultimately risks vital public infrastructure and services.

Eaton understands that you may be impacted by federal, state, and local orders that have limited or suspended certain types of business activity. Because we are a critical manufacturer, we are continuing to operate (with appropriate safety precautions including social distancing) to support our customers who are providing essential public services. Accordingly, as our supplier, you are also an essential part of the supply chain and we urge you to remain open to continue supplying products to Eaton, so that Eaton can continue this support. If you take any actions which would impact our continuity of supply for this critical manufacturing, please contact your normal supply chain, material or procurement point of contact immediately.

We remain committed to slowing the spread of COVID-19, while at the same time supporting some of the world’s most important infrastructure needs. We trust that you will join us in this effort.

Thank you,

Rogerio Branco
Executive Vice President - Supply Chain Management
